JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Corporation is looking for a Director of Infrastructure to join our Technology team. You will hold a strategic role in shaping and implementing our organization's emerging technology initiatives including, but not limited to, AI/ML and Data Science. Collaborating closely with internal technical and business teams, you will ensure that technical projects are delivered successfully, align with organizational goals, security standards, and cloud best practices. Your deep technical expertise and experience in data-driven projects, ability to assess and manage outside vendors, and strong communication skills will be critical in defining, architecting and executing our infrastructure strategy.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will lead an Infrastructure/ML Ops team responsible for critical cloud infrastructure, technical engineering, capacity and lifecycle management, and service delivery

  • This includes the end-to-end execution of complex technical projects, from conceptualization and vendor selection or internal resource dedication to project delivery

  • Your technical expertise, especially your strong understanding of AI and related emerging technologies, will enable you to make informed recommendations to business stakeholders in the fast-paced AI ecosystem. You will translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders to facilitate business outcomes

  • You will collaborate with and manage external vendors, including the evaluation of proposals and development of Statements of Work (SOWs) for technical projects

  • You will help define the cloud architecture and pipeline of AI projects across the organization, prioritizing initiatives that maximize impact and effectiveness contributing to our overall emerging technology strategy as well as architecting reusable and scalable CloudFormation templates

  • Your team will deliver predictable results in a large organization while developing a compelling vision, strategy, and overseeing long-term planning for the team

  • You will build and maintain secure and scalable cloud solutions for highly available digital services. This includes the integration of tools to automate operational processes for improved CI/CD infrastructure automation, capacity provisioning, and cost/performance optimizations as well as escalation mechanisms

  • You will work with other Engineering teams, to drive projects in an Agile environment

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with demonstrated expertise and enthusiasm for AI and emerging technologies, and significant experience working at a technology company, likely as an engineering leader or senior solution architect.

  • Excellent communication skills, including especially the ability to convey complicated and nuanced technical concepts to an audience of business stakeholders. You will often represent the office of the Chief Technology Officer in meetings with internal teams and vendors

  • Technical architecture expertise in data-driven projects, including defining required data pipelines and processes

  • Proven ability to manage a cross-functional technical team to build, secure, and manage Production infrastructure

  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with, assess, and manage outside vendors. The right person will have experience of writing up SOWs for tech projects including areas where experimentation is required and not all parameters are known in advance

  • Strategic thinking, specifically the ability to shape and implement technology strategy within the organization. You can then translate that strategy into tangible projects and business outcomes

  • Experience building and managing application infrastructure on AWS (using services such as IAM, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, VPC, EC2, ECS, Lambda, OpenSearch, Event Streams, and SNS)

  • Experience driving enterprise infrastructure automation with a focus on cloud infrastructure and proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Cloudformation, Terraform, and Ansible.

  • Strong experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and Node.js

  • Strong understanding of DNS, HTTP, TCPDUMP, CDNs, SSL, WAFs, Git, and networking concepts (VPC, subnetting, ZeroTrust, NAT, etc)

  • Experience building infrastructure automation pipelines with tools such as Github Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI

  • Experience with serverless computing and with containerization technologies such as Docker, Fargate, ECS, and Kubernetes
