Fox TV Stations

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

If you love breaking news, creating compelling multi-platform content and great storytelling, KRIV, the Fox O&O in Houston has the perfect position for you. We're looking for a talented and passionate photographer-editor who can shoot and edit in the field.  Must be a self-starter, be able to handle live breaking news events, work well under pressure and work collaboratively with other content creators in the newsroom while maintaining all legal and journalistic standards.  The position requires the ability to complete tasks with a quick turnaround for traditional linear newscasts in addition to digital platforms such as our FOX Local Streaming App,  Fox26.com and social media sites. Must have familiarity with various transmission technologies including cellular backpack technology (such as Live U), microwave and news satellite trucks. Must have knowledge of non-linear editing software, Edius or a similar platform.  You may be required to set up live remotes on your own and complete other assignments independently as necessary. Good writing skills are a plus.   

Bachelor's Degree in journalism or related field preferred. Experience as a photographer editor in a medium to large market preferred. Ideal candidate should have familiarity with newsroom computer systems. Candidate must be able to do some traveling as required.  Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Must be able to work flexible hours; early mornings, late nights, weekends, overnights and holidays as required. Must have a valid driver's license.
