JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Sports Media Group (FSMG) is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to work in the general accounting group. You will be responsible for network closing/accounting, financial consolidation and reporting, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets accounting process, bank reconciliations and audits. You will assist in projects such as policies and procedures documentation and ad-hoc reporting.You will have the opportunity to collaborate with finance team members across various businesses in the company.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare monthly journal entries related to network activities, including revenue, accruals, rights & production
  • Interact directly with Finance group to obtain proposed journal entries, resolve unusual items or discrepancies/reclassifications and ensure all accounting schedules are up to date
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis, cash flows and account reconciliations in a timely manner
  • Perform all activities associated with monthly financial reporting to executive management
  • Consolidate financial reports periodically throughout the year related to budget/forecast cycles
  • Maintain financial reports in Hubble to ensure proper roll ups/presentation of JD Edwards Enterprise One transactions
  • General ledger maintenance including account requests, BU object and Cat Code Tagging
  • Maintain fixed asset module to record additions, disposals and depreciation
  • Prepare and publish Capital Status Report on a monthly basis
  • Reconcile the fixed asset module to the general ledger on a monthly basis
  • Work with the Commitment Authorization System (CAS) to ensure accurate and timely approval of capital projects and expense authorizations
  • Prepare bank reconciliations monthly on a timely basis
  • Work with various groups (accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance and payroll) to clear bank reconciliation items in a timely manner
  • Perform various SOX procedures
  • Assist with internal/external audit requests
  • Maintain & enhance standardized accounting policies and procedures
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • BA or BS in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Minimum three years of experience in accounting or reporting
  • Strong knowledge of consolidation and financial reporting, SOX 404 documentation
  • Strong GAAP knowledge
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards Enterprise One/Enterprise level general ledger system a plus
  • Experience with Insight reporting software or other report writing software, a plus Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and administrative skills
  • Must be able to work well under time constraints
  • Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Entertainment industry experience preferred
