Fox Nation is seeking a dynamic, experienced freelance long-form Producer. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent editorial skills that can create compelling “true crime” content for the FOX audience!
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Research stories, write scripts, shoot in the field, obtain archival video, and manage rights and clearances
Write narrative scripts for projects ranging from 15 minutes to one hour in length
Coordinate with other departments throughout Fox such as legal, finance, graphics, marketing, field production, and media relations
Book guests and conduct both on and off-camera interviews
Collaborate with staff and freelance field crews to shoot interviews and additional footage
Work with editors to turn the raw footage into a completed and polished program
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Writing and producing experience at a legitimate news organization, production company, or documentary company
Excellent writing and storytelling skills- ability to write, edit, proof-read, and fact-check quality scripts
Ability to travel when required
Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment, working both independently and as a part of a team
Ability to think creatively and develop new and interesting approaches to storytelling
Experience with true crime and investigative programming preferred
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $40.00-50.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
