KTTV FOX 11 Los Angeles is seeking an innovative, growth-oriented Senior Lead, Social Media & Digital Strategy to lead our digital social operations and direct a team of Digital Content Creators (DCCs).
While your team owns the daily health of our entire digital ecosystem—including web publishing, app maintenance, and push alerts—your primary strategic mandate is growth. You will lead KTTV’s evolution toward a video-first, platform-native social strategy. You will oversee a fast-moving digital news team tasked with turning live news broadcasts, breaking events, and viral moments into high-impact video content across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and emerging digital platforms.
Working in tandem with our dedicated production teams you will direct the rapid creation and publishing of high-value video stories to build social reach, expand brand awareness, and funnel viewers directly to the FOX LOCAL live news stream. Additionally, based in the #2 media market in Los Angeles, you will collaborate closely with digital leads at our sister station in San Francisco (KTVU) to align California-wide digital strategies and amplify major statewide stories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Directly supervise, mentor, and manage daily workflows for a team of Digital Content Creators (DCCs), enforcing strong editorial ethics, high production quality, and consistent brand voice.
* Champion a video-first newsroom mindset, guiding the team away from traditional text publishing to focus on video, social clips, and live feed distribution.
* Set platform growth KPIs, and establish best practices for visual storytelling and video editing workflows on social media and the web.
* Partner directly with the Fox Local Los Angeles Streaming Content team to identify high-value live feeds for social distribution, driving social reach back into active viewership for the FOX LOCAL live streaming app.
* Optimize all social output using platform-native features, including custom video thumbnails, strong visual hooks, optimized aspect ratios, engaging captions, and algorithmic best practices.
* Coordinate regularly with digital and social leadership at KTVU (San Francisco) to align content strategies, co-promote major statewide news events, and share cross-market video assets across California.
* Establish shared social playbooks, test emerging platforms, and leverage regional audience synergies between Northern and Southern California news operations.
* Monitor real-time platform analytics and performance metrics (completion rates, average watch time, reach, engagement) to refine video strategies and maximize organic reach.
* Maintain strict news judgment and ethical standards in fast-paced breaking news situations, ensuring speed to publish never compromises accuracy or brand integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years of experience building and executing social media strategies for video-centric publishers, digital media brands, streaming platforms, or major broadcast newsrooms.
* 2+ years of experience leading a team of content creators, such as social producers, video editors, or digital content teams.
* Proven Track Record in Video Growth: Strong portfolio demonstrating audience growth and high engagement via short-form vertical video (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) and live video streaming and distribution.
* Technical Editing & Publishing Tools: Advanced proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and/or live-clipping/publishing technology (e.g., Wildmoka, Grabyo, SnapStream, SocialNewsDesk).
* Experience collaborating across multi-market partner teams, broadcast production desks, and digital streaming groups is a plus.
* Excellent writing skills, strong newsroom instincts, and deep familiarity with Southern California social media consumer culture and audience drivers.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
