ABOUT THE ROLE

FOX Corporation is looking for an experienced Director, Web / WebApps to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of our Web and WebApps engineering organization. This role is responsible for building and leading high-performing engineering teams while driving technical excellence, innovation, and delivery across our consumer-facing digital platforms.

Our Web and WebApps teams are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable applications that power millions of users across FOX's digital ecosystem. We leverage modern web technologies and cloud-native architectures to deliver fast, reliable, secure, and engaging user experiences. With a strong focus on engineering excellence, platform scalability, performance, and operational efficiency, our teams continuously evolve our technology stack to meet growing business demands.

As the Director, Web / WebApps, you will define the engineering vision, establish technical direction, and lead multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering high-quality digital experiences. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Architecture, Data, DevOps, QA, and executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives while fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and grow multiple Web and WebApps(Connected TV/Devices Samsung, LG, Xbox Vizio etc.) engineering teams by providing strong technical and organizational leadership.

  • Define and execute the engineering strategy and technology roadmap aligned with FOX's Digital Product vision.

  • Drive architecture decisions for highly scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performing web and WebApps  applications.

  • Build a culture focused on engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Partner with Product, Design, Program Management, Data Engineering, QA, and Platform teams to deliver strategic business initiatives.

  • Establish engineering best practices around software architecture, coding standards, testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and accessibility.

  • Lead organizational planning including hiring, succession planning, performance management, and career development.

  • Mentor Engineering Managers and Senior Engineers while building future technical leaders.

  • Drive continuous improvements in software development processes, release management, operational excellence, and engineering productivity.

  • Balance business priorities with long-term platform investments and technical debt reduction.

  • Monitor engineering metrics, delivery health, system reliability, and operational performance to ensure successful execution.

  • Partner with senior leadership to define technology investment priorities and engineering roadmaps.

  • Champion modern web technologies and platform modernization initiatives.

  • Communicate engineering strategy, project status, risks, trade-offs, and organizational priorities to executive stakeholders.

  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, quality, and customer experience.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading multiple engineering teams or organizations.

  • Strong experience building and scaling enterprise-grade Web applications serving millions of users, with experience in smartTV / streaming platforms such as LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, or other web based connectedTV devices. 

  • Deep technical expertise in modern web technologies including TypeScript, JavaScript, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, REST APIs, GraphQL, and Micro Frontend architectures.

  • Experience designing cloud-native applications on AWS or similar cloud platforms.

  • Proven experience leading Engineering Managers and Senior Technical Leaders.

  • Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, security, and performance optimization.

  • Experience driving Agile software development practices and large-scale engineering programs.

  • Demonstrated success managing organizational growth, hiring, coaching, and talent development.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive leadership.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align engineering investments with organizational objectives.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience building OTT, Media Streaming, or Digital Entertainment platforms.

  • Experience with CDN technologies, video streaming platforms, and media delivery architectures.

  • Knowledge of Accessibility (WCAG), SEO, Web Performance optimization, and Core Web Vitals.

  • Experience with observability platforms, monitoring tools, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.

  • Experience leading globally distributed engineering organizations.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development and modern engineering productivity tools.
