JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX News Live is looking for a talented Freelance Production Assistant to join our Washington, DC team on weekends. In this role, you'll play a key part in bringing live news coverage to air by cutting and editing video and selecting soundbites for air. You will work closely with producers, writers, and editors in a fast-paced control room environment where speed, accuracy, and attention to detail are critical. If you thrive under pressure and have a passion for live news, this is an excellent opportunity to build your career in television production.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Cut and edit video, soundbites, and other visual elements for live broadcasts
Collaborate with line producers and writers to identify the strongest elements
Edit and turn around breaking news video quickly
Work closely with editors to ensure all elements are organized and delivered on deadline
Perform thorough quality control on every video element before it airs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
Experience in television news or live production
Experience with non-linear editing software
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Passion for current events and breaking news
Flexibility to work weekends and other hours as news coverage requires

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $17.79-22.00 per hour.
