Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Multiplatform News Producer (Regular Full-Time)

WTTG/WDCA – FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is looking for an experienced, creative, and forward-thinking Senior Multiplatform News Producer to help lead one of the nation's most respected local newsrooms.

As part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television Stations, we produce more original local programming than any other station in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia market. In this role, you'll help drive editorial strategy and lead compelling storytelling across linear television, streaming, digital, social media, and connected TV while mentoring the next generation of producers.

As a Senior Multiplatform News Producer, you'll lead daily editorial execution, mentor developing producers, collaborate across newsroom teams, and help shape coverage that informs, engages, and grows our audience across every platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the Editorial Standard. Own editorial decisions for assigned programs. Guide story selection, framing headlines, SEO, and audience strategy.

  • Lead and Grow the Team. Coach and develop Producers. Foster a culture of speed, accuracy, accountability, and continuous growth. Work closely with executive producers, anchors, reporters, and control room staff.

  • Drive breaking News and Weather. Lead real-time coverage of breaking news, major events, and severe weather across every platform.

  • Synthesize Data & Help Drive Audience Growth. Use audience, search, engagement, and platform data to identify opportunities, inform editorial decisions, and grow reach and engagement.

  • Coordinate Across the Operation. Partner with newsroom leaders, producers, assignment editors, field crews, regional digital teams, and FTS markets to maximize coverage and content performance.

  • Build AI Workflows. Implement AI-powered tools and processes that improve efficiency and create more capacity for impactful journalism.

  • Champion the FOX LOCAL Experience. Help shape and optimize content for FOX LOCAL to improve engagement and strengthen loyalty.

  • Spot What's Next. Stay ahead of emerging platforms, audience trends, and storytelling formats to keep FOX 5 at the forefront of digital innovation.

  • Other Duties. Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Speed & Accuracy: Proven ability to move quickly on decision making and content creation without sacrificing quality or editorial judgment.

  • Proactive Communicator: Clear, proactive communicator who can coordinate effectively across teams during high-pressure situations. You are vocal and assertive in coordinating news coverage across teams.

  • Editorial Judgment: Strong news instincts with a commitment to journalistic integrity and a mastery of AP style.

  • Multiplatform Expertise: Experience producing and publishing content across linear television, streaming, digital, social media, and connected TV

  • Multitasking Mastery: Comfortable managing the real-time production of multiple stories and platform priorities simultaneously.

  • Technical Agility: Proficiency in content management systems, live streaming, vertical video editing, and basic photo editing.

  • Team-Oriented Mindset: Reliable, collaborative, and solutions-focused—someone the newsroom can depend on as a go-to contact.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience producing news content.

  • Experience in a medium-to-large market newsroom preferred.

Additional Details

  • Candidates must provide writing samples and a reel/link of recent production work.

  • FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. This high-impact role requires flexibility to work varied hours including overtime, early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $110,000.00-115,500.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
