Fox Corporation is seeking a highly adaptable and resilient Senior Director, Corporate Payroll Operations who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and is comfortable navigating ambiguity.
A SNAPSHOT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Payroll Shared Services Corporate Payroll Operations, ensuring the successful and timely processing of payroll for weekly and bi-weekly freelance and non-union employees in accordance with company policy and federal and state regulations
Standardize and optimize processes/procedures to create optimal efficiency
Establish relations and partner strategically with Finance, IT, HR, and operational departments on ongoing business requirements
Take charge of escalations, directing the payroll team and guiding other departments in corrective actions. Implement workable and scalable solutions to business issues/problems. Impart lessons learned afterwards to prevent future issues
Lead a team with diverse and varying levels of experience and provide coaching and learning opportunities, leaning into each team member's strengths while continuing to develop and prepare team members for the next level
Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement
Identify and mitigate potential payroll-related risks and implement controls to prevent errors, fraud, or compliance violations
Coordinate payroll processing for inpats and expats with Payroll Tax leadership
Effectively manage the delivery of excellent customer service; anticipate issues and proactively develop solutions. Use metrics to benchmark performance and improve service delivery
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts for all corporate payroll processes to ensure a complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processes
Maintain awareness of the latest federal, state, and local payroll legislation impacting the business and coordinate with the appropriate internal and external parties to ensure compliance
Draft and maintain open and effective communications to employees and business partners regarding new payroll developments
Ensure strict adherence to established internal controls and SOX compliance procedures
Occasional travel required between the two head office locations (New York City and Los Angeles)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
10+ years of relevant experience leading Payroll and related processes for a large volume of employees (including a remote workforce) in a complex and rapidly changing multi-state, multi-entity organization
Experience using software, including but not limited to PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Smartsheet
Demonstrated ability in building and managing highly collaborative and effective teams supporting multiple companies/business units, with a commitment to a culture of collaboration, performance, transparency, and integrity
Outstanding people skills with proven experience in cultivating cross-collaborative working relationships across an organization, and the ability to influence at all levels
Proven track record of bringing teams together to develop and deliver a consistent, effective, and efficient delivery of services to internal and external stakeholders
Expert knowledge of FLSA, federal, state, and local wage and hour and tax regulations, with an emphasis on New York and California
Comfortable stepping into complex or escalated situations with confidence
Demonstrated experience with transformational change initiatives, including working across and with various operational areas.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive process improvements and optimize payroll operations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $179,000.00-220,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
