As Director, Product Strategy, you will operate at the intersection of product leadership and strategic planning—setting vision, identifying opportunities, and guiding execution across a portfolio of initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with editorial, engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders to shape scalable solutions, prioritize investments, and deliver product experiences that support both immediate operational needs and long-term digital growth.
This role is well-suited for a senior product leader who can move fluidly between strategic thinking and operational execution, thrives in complex and fast-moving environments, and is motivated by building innovative solutions that support real-world news operations at scale.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the product strategy and roadmap for news-focused initiatives that support newsroom operations, content experiences, and audience engagement across platforms.
Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities across emerging technologies, workflow optimization, and platform innovation to support FOX’s broader product and business goals.
Partner closely with editorial, engineering, design, data, and cross-functional business stakeholders to define priorities, align on outcomes, and drive execution across multiple workstreams.
Translate user needs, business priorities, and market opportunities into clear product direction, requirements, and actionable plans.
Guide product development across the full lifecycle, from discovery and problem definition through launch, iteration, and performance optimization.
Establish prioritization frameworks that balance strategic impact, user value, technical feasibility, and operational constraints.
Use data, research, stakeholder input, and performance metrics to inform decisions, measure success, and continuously improve product outcomes.
Communicate product vision, strategic recommendations, trade-offs, and progress clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Mentor product team members and help elevate product thinking, execution rigor, and cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies, and apply insights to FOX’s evolving innovation roadmap.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Significant product management experience leading digital products, platforms, or strategic initiatives in media, news, content, or similarly fast-paced environments.
Experience owning product strategy and driving complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution and optimization.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, evaluate opportunities, and make informed recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to balance user experience, business goals, editorial needs, and technical considerations in product decision-making.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization and align diverse teams around shared goals.
Experience working closely with engineering, design, data, and operational partners in agile or iterative product development environments.
Strong familiarity with product planning, prioritization, and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Notion, and Google Workspace.
A proactive, organized, and adaptable leadership style with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-visibility, evolving environment.
Experience using data, experimentation, research, and performance insights to guide roadmap decisions and measure product impact.
Regular, on-site attendance at the workplace for a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. The selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
Experience working on news, media, publishing, or content-driven digital products.
Exposure to newsroom workflows, live content environments, or products supporting breaking news and real-time operations.
Experience with experimentation, pilots, emerging technologies, or early-stage product development.
Familiarity with internal tools, workflow platforms, personalization capabilities, or audience-focused product strategies.
Experience mentoring product managers or serving as a senior strategic leader across a matrixed organization.
WHY JOIN US?
At FOX, you’ll lead initiatives that bring product strategy and emerging technologies into real newsroom environments, helping shape the future of how news is created, distributed, and experienced. You’ll work with experienced partners across product, engineering, editorial, and data to deliver highly visible solutions that support critical business priorities and real-time operational needs.
