ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Staff Platforms Engineer on the Enterprise Platforms Engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping and scaling the developer experience across FOX’s engineering ecosystem through hands-on development and technical leadership. This team supports a wide range of internal and customer-facing services, including cloud account management, CI/CD platforms, full-stack applications, automation tooling, and emerging AI/agent-driven solutions.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role requiring deep expertise in backend and platform development within fast-paced environments. You will actively contribute production-level code across microservices, serverless architectures, and internal developer platforms, while leading initiatives that improve developer productivity, streamline workflows, and enable rapid, reliable software delivery. Your work will directly influence how engineers build, deploy, and operate software at scale.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead platform initiatives focused on improving developer experience, productivity, and velocity across engineering teams
Develop and deliver high-quality, production-level applications across backend services, automation systems, and platform tooling, contributing as a hands-on software engineer in a highly technical, fast-paced development environment
Serve as a technical lead for DevOps and platform engineers, providing guidance on architecture, tooling, and best practices
Design and build scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP with a focus on usability and self-service
Architect and develop CI/CD systems that enable fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments
Build backend automation and internal developer tools to reduce friction in the development lifecycle
Contribute to full-stack application development where needed
Integrate with third-party SaaS platforms via APIs to enhance platform capabilities
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Prior senior-level software engineering experience in fast-paced, high-performing development environments
Proven ability to lead and deliver complex platform and developer experience initiatives with minimal direction
Strong Python development experience building production-grade services and tooling
Deep backend development experience with serverless and microservice architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS)
Hands-on experience developing with data stores including MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB
Experience with application performance tuning and optimization in distributed systems
Strong experience implementing structured application logging and observability best practices
Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and modern coding workflows
Strong hands-on expertise with AWS and GCP cloud platforms
Proficiency in modern frontend development frameworks such as Next.js or React
Deep understanding of secure cloud architecture and modern development best practices
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

Experience developing AI agents or working with AI-driven systems
Experience building and managing GitHub Actions workflows
Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Terraform)
Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Familiarity with SRE practices, including monitoring and observability systems
Experience working within Agile development environments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and participating in iterative delivery cycles (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000.00-193,900.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
