FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

WTTG/WDCA – FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus

Are you an aspiring journalist or content creator with a passion for news, streaming, and digital media?

If so, you belong at FOX 5 DC. We are looking for motivated, curious, and collaborative individuals ready to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative newsroom. You’ll work alongside producers, reporters, and digital teams while contributing to content across broadcast and streaming platforms.

Leveraging the scale of FOX Corporation and FOX Television Stations, we lead the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market across broadcast, streaming, and digital.

Job Summary

• Newsroom Support: Assist with daily editorial operations, research, and story development.
• Content Creation: Write, edit, and publish content for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Production Assistance: Support producers with segment preparation, scripting, and live or recorded programming.
• Digital & Social Media: Monitor trends, contribute to social content, and help manage digital updates.
• Field & Studio Exposure: Observe and assist with reporting, shooting, and production as opportunities arise.
• Collaborative Execution: Work professionally under deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Current college students or recent graduates pursuing journalism, communications, media, or related fields.
• Passion for News: Strong interest in broadcast journalism, streaming, and digital storytelling.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with social media platforms and basic video or editing tools is a plus.
• Communication & Organization: Strong writing, communication, and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Mindset: A proactive, eager learner who thrives in a collaborative newsroom environment.

Program Details

• Compensation: $20/hour
• Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week (maximum 400 hours)
• Duration: Up to 10 weeks (Summer 2026)
• Location: Onsite in Bethesda, MD

Additional Details

• Operational Flexibility: FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 newsroom; interns may be exposed to a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
• Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
