FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

WTXF-Fox 29 is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and creative Executive Producer to oversee the production of our popular evening news. The ideal candidate is an innovative leader with a proven track record as a News Manager or Executive Producer, a tireless work ethic, and a 24/7 approach to managing our news team. You must have a real passion for news and the vision to evolve our broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Daily Production: Manage all news coverage for our evening newscasts, taking responsibility for the overall look and feel of the shows.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with anchors to craft their shows, and guide reporters, writers, editors, and assignment editors on all editorial and production issues.

  • Scripting & Approvals: Take a hands-on role in script production, utilizing strong writing skills to review and approve content.

  • Breaking News Management: Editorially run the control room during live, breaking news events.

  • Audience Strategy: Leverage your understanding of ratings, meters, and audience flow to attract and grow a demographically driven audience.

  • Innovation: Bring fresh, creative ideas to the table on how to continuously evolve and improve our broadcasts.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a TV Newscast Producer in a major market, OR at least 2 years of experience as an Executive Producer in a major-to-middle-sized TV market.

  • Education: Four-year college degree preferred.

  • Editorial Judgement: Exceptional news judgment and a deep knowledge of current events.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of TV production techniques and newsroom computer systems.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and people skills, with a proven ability to manage and develop on-air talent.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $100,000.00-113,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
