“The Story with Martha MacCallum” is seeking a skilled, experienced and eager Producer to join the team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a superb writer & excellent under pressure. As a Producer on The Story, you will be responsible for executing segment leads, writing live scripts during breaking news and conducting in-depth research. The Producer will serve as a backup to the Line Producer and Senior Producer, on occasion.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Pitch guests, stories, and segment ideas
Write guest intros, anchor questions, and teases
Select elements such as sound, video clips, and graphics to tell a story
Build accurate and constantly evolving research packets
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
4+ years of professional experience in a live television control room
Strong and accurate writing
Line producing training
Thorough knowledge of current events and politics
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-95,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
