FOX Corporation is looking for a Director to join our Privacy and Data Security Team. The Director, Privacy & Data Security will play a key role in providing legal guidance on FOX’s initiatives impacting privacy, cybersecurity, and data use. You will partner cross-functionally with FOX legal technology lawyers, business lawyers, technology and cyber security teams, and business stakeholders to advise on cutting-edge, technology-oriented privacy and data security issues relating to all aspects of FOX’s media business, including, but not limited to, consumer-facing websites, mobile and other product and platform initiatives, compliance, drafting/negotiating contract language, policy, training, investigations, industry self-regulation, government relations, legislation, incident response, and litigation. You will be working with the FOX Privacy and Data Security team throughout the lifecycle of initiatives and will have a direct impact on our service as FOX continues to grow and scale, including internationally. You are a proactive and collaborative team player who is excited to learn and be challenged. The Privacy and Data Security team is fast-paced and collaborative, as we work on challenging technical and legal issues, in a rapidly evolving privacy landscape.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise and counsel, manage initiatives, and generate required related work product in furtherance of compliance with privacy and data security laws, self-governing frameworks, and standards
Provide compliance, contractual, and strategic guidance to internal clients, including identifying practical business solutions that balance the need to achieve business objectives while mitigating privacy and data security-related risks
Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and data security contract language in various commercial, technology, and other agreements
Draft privacy policies and other notices
Conduct internal privacy education and training
Respond to privacy rights requests
Provide support in connection with policy, government relations, legislation, and litigation related to privacy and data security
Partner with FOX colleagues and business leaders to implement principles, such as privacy by design, into products and services
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to confidently collaborate with client stakeholders and business legal partners
Manage a high-volume workload efficiently and smoothly by effectively prioritizing and escalating matters, as needed
Remain up to date on relevant privacy and data security laws and regulations, as well as on technological developments, threat vectors, and evolving industry standards to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound privacy compliance advice
Support co-CPOs and Information Security Teams on incident response
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor Degree from a top-tier ABA-accredited U.S. law school
4+ years of combined hands-on privacy and data security experience at a top law firm and/or as in-house counsel
Experience providing pragmatic and actionable advice to clients on various obligations and legal risks under privacy and data security laws
Strong substantive background in privacy, data security, and technology, preferably in a direct-to-consumer context
Strong eye for detail with sharp analytical skills; excellent judgment and strategic thinking ability
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects across multiple business units at one time
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as part of a team in a dynamic, creative environment, with good judgment to know when to escalate an issue
Advise on data use, security, and privacy, including in a variety of commercial transactions
Excellent issue spotting, contract drafting, and negotiating skills, including in connection with compliance with privacy and data security laws (e.g., CCPA).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluency in translating complex legal advice into practical, actionable guidance for non-legal cross-functional teams
Exceptional judgment and relationship management skills

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-190,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
