FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Executive Producer Sports will manage the News Department’s Sports Coverage on linear and stream and all adjacent broadcasts including Game Day, Sports Sunday, NFL Kickoff, College Kickoff, and The Phantastic Sports Show.  This is a non-traditional management role which includes a variety of on-air hosting and anchoring work.  The ideal candidate has large market on air anchoring experience, with strong reporting skills, and an ability to craft shows and content for all our news and sports programs.  This is a self-starter role, with strong organizational skills, and the ability to foster strong relationships with the Sports Teams in Philadelphia.  The candidate will manage and produce multiple shows at once, juggling the resources of our traditional broadcasts and implementing them into our adjacent broadcasts.  This role requires a passion for sports, social media, and a strong understanding of the future of streaming.  This position requires the candidate to be able to manage and produce behind the scenes for other sports reporters/anchors but also be an integral part of our on-air presence.  Strong video editing skills are a plus.  The ability to have a vision to create new shows and keep our current shows successful.  The Sports EP will manage budgets, scheduling, and assignments for the rest of the Sports Department, and be an integral part of the News Department’s planning team for large-scale events.        

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Innovative Content Creation: Develop and produce a diverse lineup of sports programs that redefine our coverage, integrating both linear and digital platforms to deliver compelling and unique storytelling.
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the charge in building a robust, sports programming schedule that challenges traditional norms and captivates viewers across multiple channels.
  • Project Management: Oversee the production of multiple shows simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
  • Community Engagement: Stay attuned to the pulse of our sports community, leveraging social media and trending topics to create content that resonates with our audience and reflects their interests.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize a strong background in technical production to shape the visual and auditory elements of our programs, setting them apart from traditional offerings.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in multimedia production, with a track record of creating innovative and engaging content.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage a creative team.
  • Deep passion for sports, news, social media, and community engagement.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Technical proficiency in production tools and techniques.
  • Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a large market TV newsroom, with a proven track record of managing department budgets, schedules and planning for long-term events.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $115,000.00-134,500.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
