Red Seat Ventures is a creator-driven media company that partners with talent, authors, and brands to launch and grow digital-first businesses. We sit at the intersection of content, media, and entrepreneurship—helping visionary creators bring their ideas to life and scale sustainably.
We are seeking a seasoned FP&A Director to join the finance organization of a high-growth digital media investment platform. This role sits at the center of portfolio-level financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, and will play a key role in elevating how financial information is produced, analyzed, and communicated across the business. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and works closely with operating company leadership and corporate partners.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES:
Lead and coordinate portfolio-level FP&A processes, including monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning.
Enhance forecasting rigor by building standardized monthly forecast and reforecast models across multiple business units.
Own the end-to-end budgeting process, working closely with operating leaders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Develop and implement KPI frameworks and executive dashboards that provide clear, actionable insight into business performance.
Consolidate financial inputs and results across multiple entities and present summarized insights to senior leadership.
Prepare executive-level and Board-facing materials, translating complex financial data into clear and concise narratives.
Partner cross-functionally with senior leaders across finance, sales, marketing, and operations to support strategic initiatives.
Utilize and further optimize Workday Adaptive and Workforce Planning, becoming a subject matter expert on these platforms.
Support earnings-related analysis and key performance driver reporting as required.
Provide ad hoc financial modeling and analysis to support investment and operating decisions.
Assist in the training and professional development of a recently hired Finance Manager, with additional leadership responsibilities expected as the team grows.
The environment currently leverages Workday Adaptive, Workforce Planning, and advanced Excel-based financial models. The FP&A Director will be expected to fully utilize existing system capabilities, deepen organizational adoption, and help identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced reporting efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, consolidation, or advisory/consulting (Big 4 or similar background preferred).
Demonstrated experience building or enhancing forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes.
Strong financial modeling skills and comfort working across multiple business units or entities.
Experience preparing executive- and Board-level presentations.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; comfort creating visually clear, executive-ready materials.
Ability to communicate complex financial topics in a clear, practical manner to senior leaders and non-finance stakeholders.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
This role reports to the Vice President of Finance. It is primarily a senior individual contributor position with meaningful influence, including dotted-line oversight of a Finance Manager supporting both accounting and finance functions. Expanded leadership responsibility is expected as the finance organization continues to scale.
