FOX is seeking a Staff Media Solutions Engineer with a dynamic background in both broadcast and media technologies to lead in the support and architecture of media infrastructure and applications. This role will provide project support on critical media technology initiatives in partnership with many stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a self-sufficient contributor and excellent troubleshooter, with the expertise and drive to take action and independently drive projects forward to ensure their successful execution.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES
Leadership & Project Management:
Support the integration of SMPTE 2110-based infrastructure.
Collaborate with the media networking team on networking requirements and migrations.
Assist with implementation of cloud-based solutions for media operations, including managing virtualization of media systems.
Create and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation, ensuring all deployments align with technical and operational standards. Lead training as required.
Work closely with vendors to ensure the successful deployment of media infrastructure.
Collaborate across engineering verticals to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting:
Install, configure, and manage broadcast implementations and multi-platform content distribution systems.
Evaluate new products and recommend technologies and system upgrades to enhance media technology infrastructure.
Test and document system behavior, performance, and security, ensuring high availability and reliability of broadcast systems.
Plan, design, and implement media technology solutions, including graphics, editing, archiving, transmission, and monitoring.
Establish and document deployment standards and procedures for supporting systems, ensuring consistency across all stations.
Provide expert troubleshooting and support for infrastructure, particularly in high-pressure environments critical to on-air broadcast systems.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Hands-on experience supporting critical broadcast/live production environments.
Deep expertise in SMPTE 2110 routing deployments.
Experience with Evertz SMPTE 2110 products (Magnum, IPG) and TAGvs monitoring (MCM, MCS)
Experience in scripting and automation (Python, Terraform, Ansible)
Experience with VMware or Nutanix
Extensive experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft Windows & Linux-based server operating systems and applications.
Hands-on experience with deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Arista networking hardware.
Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, Infoblox, Arista CloudVision, and assorted IT-centric systems.
Strong understanding of the full TCP/IP stack and its routing protocols.
Proficiency with network monitoring, diagnostic, and troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with media networking architecture including file workflows, media transport streams, SD-WAN, compressed networks
Experience in cloud-based solutions for media applications (i.e. AWS)
Experience with production & master control automation, as well as products from Ross Video, Evertz, Sony, BitCentral, Chyron, and others.
Functional understanding of live news production workflows, media asset management, and professional video formats.
Familiarity with LucidChart or Visio.
Familiarity with NetBox.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Occasional night and weekend shifts, as well as travel as needed for special events and projects.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000.00-220,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
