We are looking for an experienced Editor to be a part of a groundbreaking and growing online News-team for FoxBusiness.com.
As an Editor, you have a proven track record of turning content in a 24/7 breaking news environment with keen editorial judgement. The Editor will help manage a team of reporters, handle assignments, editorial planning, line and copy edits across FoxBusiness.com’s content, including breaking business news and features.
You may be offered one of the following shifts: TUESDAYS THRU SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS THRU THURSDAYS, WEDNESDAYS THRU SUNDAYS (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM-10:00 PM)
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee incoming breaking news and distribute daily assignments to reporters in collaboration with Managing Editors and our breaking news teams.
Skilled at newsgathering using social media as well as traditional sources
Review all FoxBusiness.com content before publishing, reviewing text, images, videos and embedded content.
Represent the FOXBusiness team at internal editorial meetings.
Ability to work well with our verticals on crossover stories
Editing stories for content, accuracy, story flow and continuity; as well as for style, grammar, spelling and punctuation – all under very tight deadline
Skilled at turning breaking news, fast stories, headlines and captions in high-pressure, breaking news situations
Help manage editorial calendar around upcoming events as well as major stories
Use provided analytics to help shape assignments and coverage
Multitask on tight deadlines in high pressure environment
Mentor team members as necessary
Flexibility in covering breaking news as needed
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
A love of news and compelling story telling
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
At least five years' proven experience in a daily breaking News environment, preferably for a digital media operation
Proven experience in both line editing and copy editing, working revisions and rewriting of stories
Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising editorial standards
Expert with AP style
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced 24-hour news environment, some holidays or shift changes required

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $74,000.00-99,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
