JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports is looking for a Media Associate to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. A Media Associate of Media Management will support all aspects of Production and Post Production of FOX Sports. Managing all media flow in our MAM, ensuring proper workflows are being followed, and training new employees or co-workers. The Media Associate will include media ingest, drive tracking, exports and archive, supporting the footage sharing and file transfer process with outside vendors, and serve as a team leader when Management is not available. The Media Associate may be asked to travel to remote events to manage media as well as test and research new technologies. 

The Media Associate will also interface with clients, ensure records are set up correctly, handle client requests, troubleshoot issues, and monitor systems. MAM responsibilities include but are not limited to: creating and approving new records and media, metadata tagging, monitoring job brokers, daily audit, escalating issues when needed, and ensuring proper archiving workflow. You will also need knowledge and experience in Live and Post Production workflows and tools, including but not limited to EVS, IP Director, Adobe Creative Cloud, Transcoders, and File sharing systems (ex., Vantage and Aspera), as well as MAM and scheduling interfaces. 

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ingest both live and file-based media
  • Maintaining lifecycle policies for on-prem and cloud storage
  • MAM system support
  • Add metadata via JSON/XML/API automation or manually
  • Perform daily system monitoring for uploads, downloads, and exports
  • Troubleshoot and escalate issues appropriately
  • Communicate, including tracking documents, with Production, Post Production, and Marketing to ensure all workflows are properly executed
  • Support the footage sharing and file transfer process with the outside vendor
  • Hard Drive tracking
  • Link creation and sharing
  • Supporting melt tracking and other file sharing
  • Train new users on the MAM system
  • Reinforce best practices of workflows, including clipping, logging, exports, and downloads
  • Research and test new technologies, including version roll-outs of existing systems
  • On-site remote media management
  • Develop and implement file transfer workflows

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years of experience working with Digital / Media Asset Management Systems
  • Experience with EVS, Vantage, and physical and cloud storage
  • Experience working in a fast-paced collaborative production environment under tight deadlines
  • In-depth knowledge of MAM system operations
  • Experience developing metadata taxonomies
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro and Audition, along with Adobe Media Encoder
  • Working knowledge of video and audio editing systems and transcoding systems; experience configuring automated workflows
  • Familiarity with structured data formats such as XML and JSON
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter; able to effectively work independently without direct supervision
  • Passionate about leveraging technology to alleviate user frustration and reduce repetitive tasks
  • Flexible and able to reprioritize tasks on the fly
  • Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $28.85-36.30 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
