Fox News is looking for a Field Technician to join our Chicago Bureau. As a Field Technician, you will be provided countless opportunities to work with field photographers, satellite truck operators, engineers, producers, and reporters – both in the field and in the studio.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate satellite trucks
Basic ENG field photography
Studio camera operation for live shots and guests
Single-camera and multiple-camera set-ups
Audio for single and multiple camera set-ups
Basic lighting for newsgathering and long formats
Basic non-linear editing
Safely drive company-owned and rental vehicles
Extensive, last-minute travel for breaking news
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
3+ years of newsgathering experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with field photographers, satellite truck operators, engineers, field producers, and reporters
Ability to multi-task in the field
Varied technical TV media experience that will translate well into the fast-paced field newsgathering environment
Working knowledge of field audio mixers
Ability to mix and route audio for multiple camera shoots
Proficient in mixing live remotes with IFB communications
Experience with video photography and non-linear video editing
Experience with lighting technologies, microwave trucks, and satellite newsgathering vehicles
Must have a CDL or clean driving record
Flexible work schedule to adapt to a 24-hour news organization, including overtime and weekends
Nonstandard work schedule, including overtime and weekends
Willingness to be trained to drive a larger vehicle, learn drone operation and obtain FAA Remote Pilot License, and expand your knowledge of all aspects of field production

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $28.75-38.25 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
