FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION

KTVU FOX 2 is seeking individuals that have a respect for journalism and want to be part of the station’s top-tier reporting, both on screen and behind the scenes, across broadcast and streaming platforms. We are searching for an experienced Stagehand who is eager to contribute to our success. Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize the studio for all newscasts, ensuring it is camera-ready and then restore the stage for the next shift
Prepare wireless lavalier microphones for use, including daily testing, charging, and labeling, as well as the ability to dress mics on talent & guests
Floor direct for talent and crews during broadcasts, streaming shows and other television station programming including remotes
Maintain clear and effective communication with producers, on-air talent, and production staff
Consult with directors, producers, on-air talent and all other crewmembers on production needs and work with the Studio Production manager on planning and execution
Innovate daily to differentiate and elevate the station's local news presentation on all platforms.
Operate studio equipment, including prompting and lighting controls
Perform light studio maintenance on equipment such as lighting and sets
Move studio set pieces, as necessary
Other duties as assigned and necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Professional working attitude & excellent time management
Use of ladders, forklifts, motorized lifts scaling to a height of 25’
Ability to lift & carry studio items up to 30lbs
Valid California Driver’s License
High school diploma is required; 4-year college degree is preferred.
A strong technical understanding of new technology is required.
Candidate should have some experience with fast-paced television productions.
iNews NRCS, studio lighting, set and prop building are a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $24.00-26.80 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
