Red Seat Ventures is seeking a full-time Production Technician to support the day-to-day technical operations of our NY and Remote Studio locations. The right candidate will take ownership of on-site and remote technical production and associated workflows. You will work closely with show staff to ensure prompt support is provided and that the production equipment utilized is maintained. This role demands a self-motivated, passionate individual who enjoys working with a variety of personalities in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support all aspects of live & recorded production workflows.
Support both local and remote control rooms and studios.
Setup studio gear prior to productions; including studio mics, cameras, lighting, sets, and background content.
Assist with various other technical duties, including camera shading, audio level setting, and intercom programming during live broadcasts. Manage remote guests’ feeds.
Backup the technical production team including lite work on Tricaster/vMix Systems.
Coordinate workstation and software updates to ensure all equipment stays current and readily available.
Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation for all systems, procedures, and processes.
Perform maintenance on all technical systems.
Occasionally greet hosts, guests and other visitors to on-site studio.
In-Person position. Moderate travel.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
3+ Years of hands-on technical experience in a live streaming / broadcast environment.
Proficient understanding of production equipment and streaming protocols.
Expert knowledge of live video production systems, specifically Tricaster and vMix.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work alongside small production teams.
Ability to ‘jump-in’ and assist/operate production equipment as needed; including cameras, video switchers, routers, audio consoles, guest-connect devices, and prompter.
Possess great communication skills, along with having a positive and energetic personality.
Articulate any necessary troubleshooting steps to staff who are remotely located, when you do not have direct access to equipment.
Comprehensive knowledge of Audio, Video, and Networking signal flows.
In-Depth understanding of MacOS and Windows. Bonus points for Linux.
Energy to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable production setting.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, based on production demands.
Experience with audio routing, including Dante a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $25.75-34.62 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
