FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KTBC is hiring a Editor/Producer position.

This position will edit video for daily live television news broadcasts. Record and import video and media files from multiple sources. Coordinate with directors and production crews to ensure seamless execution of news shows over the air and on streaming. Collaborate with other members of the newsroom team in assembling stories.  Work with broadcast engineers in maintaining and problem solving video editing and storage systems as necessary.  Producing duties include new digital and linear shows.

Experience: Non-linear editing experience required.  Experience using Grass Valley Edius editing software and Bitcentral video systems strongly preferred. 

General understanding of television news operations and news videography techniques.  Previous small to medium market experience as a news video editor or videographer.  Knowledge of newsroom computer systems.  Knowledge of libel and defamation laws.  Must be able to communicate well with others and be a team player. Reliability in meeting deadlines and upholding professionalism in high pressure situations is paramount. Must be able to work a weekday overnight schedule.  Provide a demo reel of work in resume/cover letter. Producing and writing experience strongly preferred.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $22.87-23.87 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
