FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ASSIGNMENT EDITOR: (Full Time Regular): We have expanded from Linear TV and now reach EVEN MORE viewers on Streaming Platforms. Fox13, Tampa’s leading News Station, is looking for a multi-talented Assignment Editor.

It starts with you. As an Assignment Editor with Fox13, Tampa’s leading News Station, you’re the first to know what’s going on. We’re looking for a multi-talented Assignment Editor to coordinate and direct news crews, work with our digital team, and help cover the most important stories for both digital and broadcast. It’s more than phone calls and sending emails. Besides delivering breaking news first, you’ll develop content across platforms as we expand our Fox Local streaming brand. Position will include some weekdays and weekends.

Who we want:

• Someone with solid editorial judgment and strong organizational skills
• Digitally savvy and able to create content for online and social platforms
• Willing to be in the ‘heart of the newsroom’, working with reporters, photographers, producers, and digital team members
• Build strong relationships with community contacts, public information officers, and other news sources
• Experience in tuning in satellite and bonded cellular signals is a plus
• Experience as an assignment editor or digital content producer in a news department is also highly preferred

Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays as needed.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-72,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
