KTTV/KCOP has an immediate need for a director for our morning or evening newscast. Must be available for on-air broadcasts of breaking news and special new reports during all hours on the weekends, as well as fill-in on an emergency basis on all other FOX 11 newscasts during the week.
Will work closely with line producer on daily rundown and changes affecting daily broadcast, with associate director on graphic rundown and scheduled remotes, and with producer on direction and style of the newscast.
Our ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience directing news or other related news programming in a large market and thorough knowledge of studio, news, and other commercial experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ability to direct spontaneous, free form programming from the news department including breaking coverage of brush fires, earthquakes, rainstorms, etc. Must be able to work well under pressure and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Skills and technologies include Sony ELC Automation with automated audio.
Chyron Prime with ISQ, Matrix, iNews, and Microsoft Excel.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $55.97 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
