America’s Newsroom is looking for an experienced, high energy Coordinating Producer to join the team. The ideal candidate is an independent leader who is a proven go-getter, a team player, and someone who can rise to the occasion under the stressful demands of cable news. As Coordinating Producer, you should have excellent editorial judgment and breaking news experience. This is a control room position.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with line and senior producers to help build, booth and execute live broadcasts
Flag incoming updates from wires, social media and news monitoring platforms, especially on developing stories
Facilitate communication between control room teams, field crews and on-air talent to ensure the show runs as smoothly as possible
Copy edit scripts & screen video and graphics to ensure editorial accuracy and consistency
Pitch and produce segments on breaking and ongoing stories
Help plan daily and future editorial content for the show
Manage & contribute to the show’s social media footprint
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
5+ years of control room experience in cable television news production
A collaborative mindset and willingness to wear multiple hats on a lean, nimble team
Ability to work under pressure, be decisive, detail-oriented, and meet deadlines
Knowledge and passion for news and politics
Exceptional editorial skills and storytelling instincts
Familiarity with social media platforms & curiosity in emerging tech trends
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and platforms to enhance production and workflows
A Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-120,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
