ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a strategic and creative Director of Content Merchandising & Editorial to lead the overall content curation and merchandising strategy across our digital platforms. This role will be responsible for driving viewer engagement and maximizing viewing time by delivering best-in-class content experiences. Partnering closely with internal business units, product teams, and content operations, you will ensure that content is positioned in the most impactful way across sports, news, and entertainment. You will lead a high-performing editorial team and make data-driven decisions that inform what content surfaces where—and when—to best serve our audience.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the content merchandising and editorial strategy across FOX’s DTC product
Drive initiatives that optimize engagement and viewing time per user through effective content placement
Partner with business stakeholders to align merchandising efforts with content calendars and tentpole events
Use analytics and performance data to continuously refine placement strategy and editorial decision-making
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of content coordinators to execute and evolve our merchandising operations
Collaborate with product and content operations teams to develop and enhance promotional capabilities within the platform
Champion editorial best practices that reflect our brand and deliver a premium content experience
Ensure consistency in tone, timing, and execution across all platforms and content categories
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Proven experience leading editorial or content merchandising functions for a digital consumer product or streaming platform
Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to guide decision-making and improve user engagement
Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functionally with product, content, and business teams
Experience managing editorial calendars and driving alignment with programming or marketing roadmaps
Deep understanding of content presentation best practices across mobile, TV, and web-based platforms
Skilled in team leadership and talent development, with a focus on building collaborative and agile teams
Familiarity with digital operations, content management systems, and merchandising tools
Passion for delivering engaging experiences across news, sports, and entertainment content
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
Experience working with experimentation platforms or A/B testing of content placement
Knowledge of metadata management and content tagging systems
Background in journalism, editorial, or media programming

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-181,800.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
