Fox News Digital is looking for a sharp, driven, and strategic Politics Editor to help lead our political coverage across FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com. This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes politics, has a deep bench of sources, and thrives in a fast-paced, digital-first newsroom. You’ll work closely with reporters and editors to drive story development, secure exclusives, break news, and shape our coverage to stand out in a competitive media landscape.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the Managing Editor, Politics; other Managing Editors; Senior Editors and Editors, as well as reporters and other colleagues across the Fox News Digital operation, on newsgathering, idea generation, and story advancement
Drive daily and enterprise political coverage that sets Fox apart—ensuring speed, substance, and strong editorial framing
Provide insights on story angles, exclusive interviews, and original content; book contacts for stories and interviews when necessary
Monitor the political landscape—including breaking news, social media, and emerging trends—to proactively assign and elevate stories
Collaborate with editorial leadership on short- and long-term projects, series, and event-based coverage
Write and edit content as needed in deadline-driven, high-impact news situations
Mentor and coach reporters to develop sharp pitches, stronger copy, and deeper reporting
Lead trainings and develop best practices on sourcing, booking, and story advancement
Coordinate closely with Fox News Channel and Fox News Media colleagues to align digital and on-air political reporting
Additional duties as assigned
Minimum 5 years of experience covering or editing politics in a digital newsroom
A well-established rolodex of political sources and a track record of exclusives and impactful reporting
Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience managing editorial teams or mentoring junior staff
Excellent editorial judgment and a deep understanding of the national political landscape
Familiarity with content performance analytics and digital audience behavior
Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines, including during breaking news
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational skills that enable management of multiple stories and priorities simultaneously
Flexibility to work some holidays and off-hours as news demands; an “on-call” mentality
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $74,000.00-99,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
