We are looking for a proactive and organized Associate Producer with strong writing, booking and video/graphics skills and great editorial judgment to join our D.C. team. As an Associate Producer you also must have stellar communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced breaking news environment, looking to grow within the company and take on more responsibilities. This job is a position with shifts that split between 3 days working on the Fox News Live weekend shows and 2 days working in the DC newsroom producing liveshots.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Build fast-paced newscasts
Generate creative and innovative ideas for guest segments and pieces
Communicate daily story development to executive producer
Responsible for graphics, writing, and all other editorial and production elements
Take part in editorial planning
Help book guest segments/studios
Work with reporters to set up interviews, ask questions and obtain information to craft and produce live shots
Monitor wires, social media and other broadcast networks for news developments
Find elements, log events, and identify news developments
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
1-3 years of professional experience in a live television environment
Ability to write effectively and creatively
Thorough knowledge of American politics and business news
Strong writing and copy-editing skills
Ability to work under intense deadline pressure in a newsroom
Flexibility to work early morning hours and weekends

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-70,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
