WTTG Fox 5 TV – Washington DC's #1 News Station with the most hours of local news has a remarkable opportunity for a motivated and dynamic News Reporter. This position requires a highly creative individual with the ability to research, write and deliver compelling news stories to maintain viewer interest. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding storyteller and live on-air performer with strong interviewing skills, solid journalistic judgment and the ability to ad-lib effectively. Work cohesively with producers, editors and photographers to create news stories & features; taped and live. Develop and maintain story source network. Make public appearances on behalf of the station. Work with social media to attract, inform and engage the audience. Must have excellent live reporting, writing, and storytelling skills. Must be able to work accurately and efficiently within time constraints. Proficiency with newsroom computers and related software required. Must also demonstrate experience and proficiency with live news technology and newsroom computers. Four-year college degree required. 3+ years of experience. Investigative journalism required. Broadcast TV reporting in top 55 market required. Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid driver’s license and be able to drive. Local/national travel, weekends, holidays and varied hours required. Candidates must submit resume and video/link of recent work.
