Opportunity Overview

With a legacy spanning nearly 40 years, FOX Entertainment is one of the world’s most recognizable media brands and a prolific content producer across its iconic broadcast network and both owned and third-party platforms worldwide. Known for its independent, innovative spirit and provocative, groundbreaking storytelling, the company includes three key business units: FOX Television Network, FOX Entertainment Studios and worldwide content sales and licensing unit FOX Entertainment Global.

While maintaining its leadership in linear television with an exceptional slate of original series – including Doc, Extracted, Memory of a Killer, The Masked Singer, The Floor, The Simpsons, Animal Control, Going Dutch, Murder in a Small Town, Hell’s Kitchen and LEGO Masters – FOX Entertainment is growing its portfolio of studio engines, business operations and library of owned original content.

The FOX Entertainment Writers Incubator is a highly selective initiative designed to nurture and provide training to four (4) writers of all genres (comedy, drama, animation, etc.) who have unique voices, backgrounds and life experiences. Writers will have a chance to work intensively on their scripts with the support of established writers, executives, directors and producers, as well as receive a while receiving a stipend for the duration of the program. The initiative offers trained writers a rigorous three-month workshop focused on rewriting their material, honing writing skills, and exploring the business of media and entertainment. Upon successful completion of the FOX Entertainment Writers Incubator, writers will receive priority in staffing meetings on FOX television shows.

How to Apply

To begin the application process, you must register for an account. This will allow you to save your progress as you fill out your application. You must ensure all required fields have been completed and agreements have been signed to be considered for this program.

Applications will be accepted from October 6th through October 27th or when we receive 1000 applications. To apply, you will need the following:

  • One (1) original episodic pilot script in PDF format (anything that is not an episodic pilot script will be disqualified)
  • Resume in PDF format
  • Bio
  • Personal statement
  • Script synopsis (750 words or less)
  • Script genre (drama, comedy, animation)
  • Logline (75 words or less)
  • 2 additional original loglines of unproduced material
  • Contact details for 2 references
  • Completed submission of material agreement
  • Completed agreement letter

Note: FOX Entertainment makes no representation that selected participants will be offered or entitled to employment with FOX Entertainment upon completion of their participation in FWI. In addition, participants will not be entitled to and will not receive any wages or financial benefits as compensation for their time spent as a participant in the program.

  • FWI is an educational program and selected participants will receive training similar to that which would be provided in a writing seminar or similar vocational program.
  • FWI is for the benefit of the selected participants.
  • Selected participants will not be involved in the actual operation of FOX Entertainment’s businesses and selected participants will not displace regular FOX Entertainment employees; rather, selected participants will receive training, mentorship and supervision from FOX Entertainment’s regular employees.
  • FOX Entertainment will not derive any immediate advantage from a selected participant’s participation in FWI and, at times, FOX’s operations may actually be impeded.
  • Participants selected for FWI will not be entitled to and will not receive any wages, remuneration or financial benefits as compensation for their time spent as a participant in FWI.
