Job Description

FOX Networks Group (FNG) is searching for an IT Operations Manager to join their team at the FOX Network Center in The Woodlands, TX. This role will initially be a freelance role with the possibility to convert to a staff role. The position oversees local and regional FNG IT Client Services operations including the enforcement of policies/procedures and planning for Help Desk, Desk-Side IT support, and IT network infrastructure. The incumbent works with peers in FNG IT/MIS and FOX Entertainment Group (FEG) to ensure proactive end user IT support that is also aligned with FNG IT business goals.

  • Manage and develop Client Services staff comprising of full-time and temp/contract employees
  • Management escalation point for Client Services operation
  • Coordinate Client Services projects/tasks so they are completed on time and within scope
  • Partner with client groups to understand business needs and be a driving force to optimize efficiency, service delivery, and client satisfaction levels
  • Recommend, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for the FNG IT department
  • Interface with multiple levels of FEG IT on various IT operations-related topics, including outage escalations, system modifications, IT system installation and testing of new or upgraded system software
  • Interface with business unit representatives and technical contacts to understand their regional/localized needs and initiatives; provide recommendations and feedback to FNG IT management
  • Perform customer business reviews
  • Maintain and manage software and hardware inventory
  • Technical escalation point for Woodlands Desk-side Support



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience in roles that are increasing in responsibility
  • High level understanding of networking and server technologies (e.g. Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WAN/LAN, VPN, Switches/Routers, Microsoft BackOffice, and Windows)
  • Proficient in VMware, building and maintaining virtualized systems
  • Solid understanding of varying IT software and hardware platforms
  • Ability to maintain and discuss current and upcoming technologies
  • Experience with incident management tools and methodologies (Altiris preferred)
  • Recommended certifications, MCSE, CCNA, and/or VCP
  • Demonstrated strong team-building skills and leadership abilities in complex organizations with at least 10 direct reports
  • Demonstrated management experience in large organization
  • Project management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
