Job Description

The Data Architect plays a key role in creating and executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap(s) for Intellectual Property Management (IPM) solutions – including Enterprise Rights Management (ERM) and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.  The architect ensures that industry-standard data architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and concepts are followed.  Through clear governance processes, and in collaboration with IT and business teams, the architect will have responsibility for maintenance and support of IPM and its structures to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.  


Responsibilities:

  • Create a fluid, end-to-end vision for how IPM is used and flows through the organization
  • Drive the architecture, development and application of Master Data capabilities
  • Evaluate and recommend IPM solutions, particularly cloud solutions
  • Implement IPM cloud solutions and replace existing Informatica/Oracle solution
  • Ensure that best-practice IPM architecture principles, standards, guidelines and concepts are employed  
  • Partner with technology teams to implement appropriate technical approaches for integration
  • In collaboration with the business users, create and maintain data governance process and framework
  • Acts as the subject matter expert on Master Data API services for operational solutions
  • Develop data models for database structures
  • Monitor IPM solutions, and conduct IPM system health checks and performance tests, then recommends and implements remedies
  • Aid in identifying and resolving IPM production issues; assess and address root causes of these issues
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Communicate plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis
  • Adhere to and enforce department standards, policies, procedures and industry best-practices

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required; scrum certification preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of technology and information management experience
  • A minimum of 5 years in development, maintenance, and management of IPM/MDM solutions and data governance frameworks
  • A minimum of 5 years as a Data Architect with entertainment/studio experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of entertainment industry and the role that IPM plays in the industry
  • Knowledge of available cloud-based IPM solutions
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Development platforms a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Informatica a plus
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools
  • Familiarity with Project and Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies including Agile
  • Familiarity with standard IT practices related to business application development and implementation
  • Familiarity with IT structured analysis methodologies, including process and data flow diagramming
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including technical & functional documentation, presentation materials and status reporting
  • Capable of translating business needs into technical specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of customers and IT personnel
  • Ability to lead effective meetings that are tailored to the audience
